By default, the year-end bonus and holiday allowance are paid annually in December and June, respectively. These allowances accrue based on the hours you have worked. Would you prefer to receive them monthly? You can adjust this via Mijn Driessen under ‘Mijn gegevens & cv’ in the ‘Loonheffingskorting’ section.

In addition to holiday allowance and a year-end bonus, you also accrue vacation days. At the bottom right of your payslip, you can see how many vacation hours you have accumulated. Would you like to have these paid out? Then submit a new declaration. Instead of filling in the hours under ‘uren tegen 100%’, enter them under the ‘Vakantie’ column.

You can view your payslips and annual statement in Mijn Driessen under ‘Loonstroken & jaaropgaven’. Every four weeks, you will receive an email when your new payslip is available. You will also receive an email once a year when your annual statement is ready.

Do you have multiple jobs? Then you may only apply payroll tax credit at one employer. Choose the employer where you earn the most. You can adjust your payroll tax credit in Mijn Driessen under ‘Mijn gegevens & cv’ in the ‘Loonheffingskorting’ section. Please note: the start date must always be on a Monday.

Are you scheduled to work but unable to due to illness? Report your illness via Mijn Driessen. Additionally, it’s important to inform your supervisor at UT. If you are expected to find a replacement yourself, that is your responsibility. Don’t forget to also report your recovery as soon as you’re able to work again.

Your contract remains valid as long as you are enrolled as a student at the University of Twente. If you are no longer enrolled, you are required to inform us immediately.

As a student on-call worker, you work based on a call contract. The reference days and hours in your contract indicate your availability, but this does not mean that you are required to work at these times. Your supervisor will coordinate your actual working hours with you.

Below is an overview of reference days and hours if, for example, you are available between 8 and 16 hours per week. In this example, the preference is for working in the afternoon and evening, but preferably not on Fridays and Sundays.

  • Monday: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Thursday: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Friday: -
  • Saturday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Sunday: -

According to the collective labor agreement (CAO) for universities, you receive an additional allowance for irregular working hours:

40% allowance:

  • On weekdays (Mon-Fri) between 00:00-07:00 and 20:00-24:00.
  • All day on Saturdays.

75% allowance:

  • All day on Sundays.
  • On official public holidays.

Your contract applies to all your work within UT. You do not need to be re-registered if you work for another department. However, your declaration option must be activated. If you do not see this option in the portal, contact your supervisor.

No, as a student on-call worker, you are not allowed to work from abroad. This is due to social security regulations and the processing of declarations. Hours worked abroad cannot be paid, and declarations for these hours will be rejected.

Reasons why working from abroad is not allowed:

  • If you (temporarily) live and work from abroad, it can have significant consequences for the Dutch social security schemes you are insured under in the Netherlands. To prevent complications, Driessen and the University of Twente have decided that student on-call workers cannot work from abroad.
  • Unfortunately, declarations for hours worked abroad cannot be processed or paid. Any such submitted declarations will be rejected by Driessen and returned to the approver.
